The Tea Room

Visit our lovely Coach Hall for a delicious Devonshire Cream Tea, locally sourced ice-cream, scrumptious homemade cakes and bakes – and unparalleled views sweeping down the Exe Valley.

Open 2-5pm on bank holidays and Wednesdays and Thursdays from Easter Monday to the last Thursday in August each year.

Fursdon’s Coach Hall makes a very welcoming tea room and doubles as the ticket office.

Maps of the garden and information about the historic house are available here. It is just the place to come for a catch up chat with friends and is great for families too, with a slide and swings nearby.

On cool days there is a roaring log fire to sit beside, and when the weather is warm you can sit outside in the cobbled courtyard. Our planters, overflowing with bee and butterfly friendly flowers, are always much-admired!

We welcome dogs on leads and always have a fresh bowl of water out for them.

  • Homemade scones, west country clotted cream and locally made strawberry jam. We also serve a savoury cream tea with homemade cheese scones, cream cheese and homemade chutney.

  • Farmer Tom’s Ice-Cream

Our Orange and Almond cake and Chocolate Brownies are both gluten-free. We can also provide gluten-free plain and cheese scones for your cream or savoury tea. The Orange and Almond cake, Coffee and Walnut cake and Carrot Cake slice all contain nuts.
