This year, amongst other projects, we have started to tackle the huge number of vintage family photos. At some point, we hope to obtain grant funding to digitise these as part of a wider digitisation project of items associated with Fursdon’s history.
In the meantime, it has been fascinating to go through these and has really brought to life some of the characters that have lived and/or worked here over the centuries, as well as the evolution of the landscape and house over successive generations.
We are hoping to print off some more of these photographs to put up at the tea-room this year. You can also see more photos and learn a bit about some of the characters featured on a Guided House Tour.
In the meantime, we are particularly interested in learning more about people that may have worked at Fursdon in the 18th and 19th centuries. Please get in touch if you have any information.
