Gardens re-open!

After what has felt like a long pause to Fursdon’s usual comings and goings, we are delighted to welcome back visitors to our garden and tea-room at our usual opening times of 2-5pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays until the end of September.
After soft-opening these last few weeks to last year’s season ticket holders only, we now feel that we can open safely to the wider public in a relatively normal way, albeit with a few changes in place that are as follows:

1) The Coach Hall Tea-Room is open for takeaway teas only.
We are accepting contactless payments (or exact cash) for tickets and taking orders for takeaway cream teas, bakes, ice-cream and refreshments at The Coach Hall entrance.
2) Returning visitors will notice a few extra signs around the place relating to COVID-19 safety.
Takeaway teas can be enjoyed in the grounds or at picnic tables positioned with plenty of space between them in the courtyard. Visitors will also be able to purchase posies of flowers from the Fursdon cutting garden – available on a first-come-first-served basis!
We have tried to keep these to a minimum to avoid interfering with visitors’ enjoyment on what should be a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon out. However, if you have any questions or concerns regarding the policies and measures we have in place, please do contact us directly.
3) The house remains closed until further notice.
We regret that we are unable to offer guided tours of the house at this time due to coronavirus restrictions. We hope that by next year, these will be up and runing again.
The garden at Fursdon is looking more beautiful than ever thanks to the hard work and creativity of gardener Katie as well as Michael and Philip, who help keep everything looking ship-shape.
We hope you enjoy it as much as we do and have a wonderful visit after these months of lockdown.
