Easter Opening

Spring has broken through at Fursdon these last few weeks with extended daylight hours, some much-needed sunshine and the daffodils providing their annual early spring cheer. Alongside this, there’s positive news from government, which has delivered its ‘road map’ out of lockdown, and saved parents’ sanity by allowing children back to school. Happy times.

Meanwhile, we are delighted that we will be able to open as planned for the season on Easter Monday (5th April, 2-5pm), allowing visitors the chance to come and see the garden in spring and enjoy homemade cream-teas, cakes and our own Fursdon apple juice from the tea-room (takeaway only until 12th April).
Easter opening is exciting for us as it’s the time when all the tulip bulbs we selected last October start to come out in the planters and borders. Sometimes, we get an unexpected surprise, but the array of colours and shapes never disappoints!
This year, we are delighted to welcome the lovely Kashy back to the tea-room after a year’s break. Regular visitors will know Kashy well and remember her delicious home-baked treats, and we are looking forward to sampling them again (something of an occupational hazard if one lives or works nearby!)
This Easter Monday and throughout the Easter school holidays, we will be running an Easter Trail through the garden for families with children. This is FREE to take part in with a small prize to take away at the end for those who find all the answers!
As Covid-19 restrictions are still very much in place (and may change), we would ask that visitors check our Opening Times and Prices before their visit for up to date information.
Please note that our tea room will be takeaway only until 12th April, and sit-out only until restrictions are lifted further later in the year. House tours are currently scheduled to re-open again on Bank Holiday Monday 31st May but remain closed at this time. We do not currently have a pre-booking system for visits as there is plenty of space for visitors to keep distance from others during their visit.
We look forward to welcoming visitors back to Fursdon and hope to see some of you very soon!
