Though it is still a bit chilly, spring is most definitely in the air, and we are looking forward to opening up to visitors once again.
This time of year is always busy at Fursdon as we spruce things up for outside eyes and get ourselves sorted. The first grass cut of the season is always an exciting moment!
Easter is late this year, so our first day of opening is on Easter Monday, 21st April, 2-5pm.
We are hoping that the daffodils might still be out and that the tulips haven’t all been munched by voles – they have developed a real taste for these over the last few years.
Regardless, the garden is springing to life with many plants, shrubs and trees of interest – and of course a spectacular setting and views!
This year, bring the family and enjoy:
- An Easter Trail around the garden with prize at the finish
- Easter-themed treats at the tea-room
- House Tours at 2.30pm and 2.30pm
- A play area for children with swings and a slide
This year’s exhibition (included on a guided house tour) is based around the theme of ‘Nature’, with 18th century fabrics and textiles made from natural plant fibres, inspired by nature or coloured using plant dyes.
