We are delighted to announce the 2023 date for Cadbury’s much loved Fun Run & Walk 2023, so please save the date for 13th May 2023!
This popular event attracts families, walkers and runners from all over and is eagerly anticipated by locals and visitors alike. It is a great afternoon for individuals, couples, groups of friends, families and, of course, not forgetting our four-legged friends – dogs on leads are very welcome too!
The first person to cross the finish line wins the Cadbury Cup! Last year, local lad, Zac Milden pipped some very impressive runners to the post. Could it be you this year?
Whether you are coming for a walk and some beautiful scenery or to get competitive, be sure to gather up your friends and family and SAVE THE DATE for this fabulous event!
In order to give us an idea of numbers, please register your interest for this event by emailing [email protected] and letting us know how many you will be bringing.
DIRECTIONS TO FURSDON (EX5 5JS)
Please see How to Find Us for directions to Fursdon.
If it’s possible to car-share to the event, we would really appreciate it, both to ease the pressure on parking and also the impact on the environment!
ON THE DAY:
Registration opens at 1.30pm at the Coach Hall, with the event starting at 2pm. The entry fee is £5 for over 16s, £2 for children (pre-school children free) and £2 per dog!
The route is approximately four miles, going through woods and fields, up and down hills and crossing some of Mid-Devon’s most beautiful landscape. If the weather permits, you will enjoy extensive views to Exmoor and Dartmoor in the distance and to the Sidmouth Gap on the south coast. The terrain is hilly and uneven and if it has been wet, could be a bit muddy, so please wear appropriate footwear.
Drinks will be available en route and of course, at the end, there will be our famous Cadbury tea laid out for you in the Coach Hall (for which we very much appreciate donations to cover costs).
2023 – RAISING FUNDS FOR ST MICHAEL AND ALL ANGELS:
Cadbury’s church is a wonderful historical building which is a real treasure in our community, and, of course, a place where weddings, funerals, christenings and many other community events can take place. Last year, the church used the £1000 raised to install some new lighting, and the hope is that heating and an outdoor loo can also be added. We are delighted to donate all Fun Run proceeds to this cause.
Please spread the word near and far.
If you have any queries, please do ring the estate office on 01392 860860 or email us at [email protected]
We very much look forward to seeing you on Saturday the 13th May!
