Fursdon Cottage

 Fursdon Cottage

We are thrilled to be including Fursdon Cottage, a gardener's cottage in the 19th century, to our properties for holidays here at Fursdon. Over the last few months we have been enjoying the process of complete renovation - inside and out. It will be a stylish and comfortable place for couples or families and dogs will be welcome too. Lovely peaceful colours have been chosen with beautiful fabrics to give a feeling of traditional quality and at the same time there is contemporary practicality. My aim has been to make the cottage somewhere I would like to go on holiday myself (and I might take the family... and the dog!) We've been offering holidays at Fursdon for more than 30 years so we're beginning to know what visitors like!

Book here for holidays from Easter 2012.

The following features make Fursdon Cottage ideal for a family holiday for 5/6, but its cosy feel makes it perfect for a romantic hideaway, too:-

  • Large family bathroom with separate shower
  • Twin bedroom
  • Single bedroom with additional pull-out guest bed
  • Open plan kitchen/dining room/sitting room with log burner and garden door

All the main rooms face south and there are spectacular views over the top of the estate bell tower to far distant Dartmoor. Farrow and Ball paints have been used and stylish soft furnishings complete the look. It is the perfect place to curl up with a good book on a comfy sofa and designed so that whoever is cooking dinner can join in the fun with the rest of the family.

The ground floor is tiled throughout and in the sitting room there are comfortable sofas in front of the fire. There is a large wooden dining table and a door into the garden. The kitchen has a dishwasher, electric oven and gas hob and in the TV room/snug there is a broadband connection if you need to keep in touch while you are on holiday. The utility room has space to store welly boots and hang coats after walks.

The terraced back garden extends to about ¼ acre and although a steep climb it is well worth carrying a glass of something to the top to take in the sunset over the manor house.

You need more photos I know! We will post some as soon as possible!
